Target Countries

We have identified 4 target countries from among the poorest in the world for our program: Liberia, Malawi, Mali and Sierra Leone.

Our main selection criteria were Gross National Income per capita (click here to download 2006 GNI report from the World Bank), average physician's salary, and quality of health care, but we have also taken into account a critical political and social issues. We have selected the poorest countries in the world with the poorest health care systems.

In each of these countries countless people are dying from preventable and easily treatable diseases, and doctors are experiencing difficulties practicing due to poor compensation and lack of resources. It is our mission to provide reasonable compensation and improved resources for physicians in these countries so they can stay and save lives.
