QUICK FACTS
-We provide financial support on a monthly basis for our doctors.
-We obtain the funding required to support our doctors from generous individuals from around the world.
-All of our operational expenses are funded through grants and corporate sponsorships.
HOW WE IDENTIFY OUR DOCTORS
We collaborate with the Global Alliance to Immunize Against AIDS Vaccine Foundation (GAIA), the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) through its Hospital Revitalization Program, the Mali Health Organizing Project (MHOP), in addition to hospital administrators in our target countries to identify doctors and distribute stipends.
OUR CONTRACT WITH OUR DOCTORS
In exchange for financial aid, doctors in our program sign a contract committing to remain in their country and practice medicine for at least 7 years. Should a doctors leave before the 7 years to pursue a more lucrative career in another country, he or she must return all funds received from Adopt A Doctor.
WHY WE ARE EFFECTIVE
The structure of Adopt A Doctor allows us to make a significant impact within our target countries without experiencing governmental and political roadblocks.
